Another overdue post blergh. Anyway just wanted to point this out before I get into this post, these photos were taken probably a month ago (i know) so
obviously my lipstick collection has grown. On that note, I will still publish this post and will post individual reviews on each lipsticks I own. Does that sound ok? No? Donch care Imma just do it.
I am one gal that didn’t quite love lipsticks during my young adult years. Mom would always nag to wear lipstick to work so that I don’t look so dull but back then I felt that it was so difficult to find the perfect shade of lipstick for my tan skin plus very dark natural lips of mine. In the end I thought “screw it” lipsticks ain’t that important to be part of my life.
Fast forward 5 years later, here I am a lipstick hoarder. Although I may not have a huge number of lipsticks but personally this is an achievement unlocked for me, loving lipsticks. So yes, I am not embarassed to say this out loud, I am very much a lipstick junkie/hoarder whatever you call it. And yes, I regretted the years that I didn’t have lipsticks on (what were you thinnking 23 y/o Amirah) during work/socialising and yes I AM SORRY IBU for not listening to you. So gals and boys, side note for everyone, LISTEN TO YOUR PARENTS. They effing know what they’re talking about, trust me.
Ok enough rambling, lets jump in to my sea of lipsticks!
Ya know I might as well call myself a lipstick beginner because I’ve been purchasing lipsticks like nobody’s business. Of course before I finish all my money at Watsons/Guardian/SaSa, I will go online and search my a** off for lipsticks that I think might suit me and my skintone. Honestly, there were not many lipsticks review for Tan/Asian/Yellow-Toned skin girls like mua, so it was quite difficult to find a match.
Thank God for the drugstore brands Catrice In2it, NYX etc for making superb quality lipsticks and of course, affordable! For beginners like me, I suggest you try these drugstore lipsticks first before splurging on to the high end ones unless you have all that cash to spend that by all means, please do go ahead. =D
These following photos are in no particular favourite order not shades so bear with me ya. I will post individual posts on each lipstick soon for in-depth review. So do stay tune for that.
L to R :
IN2IT Lasting Lipstick (LA 03 Cinnamon)
NYX Matte Lipstick (MLS09 Natural)
Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm (225 Sultry)
These 3 lipsticks are all matte and I love ’em. The thing about matte lipsticks that they will, for sure, dry your lips even more but with extra TLC ie scrubbing your lips and moisturise them often, dry and chappy lips won’t be problems for you no more. The reason why I love matte lipsticks is mainly because my lips cannot take on glossy/sheer lip products. I do envy girls that have natural pink lips and the glossy lip products look so pretty on them but hey matte lipsticks ain’t bad after all.
Next, are my liquid lippies which I am obssess with namely Colourpop, L.A Girl and Revlon.
L to R :
Colourpop USL (Frick N’ Frack)
L.A Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour (Addiction)
Super love liquid lippies although I must say the L.A Girl one is very, very drying (watch out for an in-depth review) and the Revlon Ultra HD is not as matte as I would want it to be. Colourpop has to be my ultimate favourite liquid lippie especially this USL on in the shade Frick N’ Frack. Oh I purchased the L.A Girl from Carousell and it was I think around RM22. I actually have 2 of this L.A Girl Matte Lipstick but I cannot recall where is the other one. Oh well, I will include the other shade in its individual post later.
These next lipsticks are also matte BUT not as drying as the liquid lippies I mention before.
L to R :
Catrice Ultimate Colour (340 Berry Bradshaw)
Catrice Ultimate Stay (020 All that She Wants)
These 2 Catrice lipsticks are LOVE. Just look at those colours, aren’t they pretty? And they are so affordable, around RM20 macamtu. Can you beat that? Both this Ultimate Colour and Ultimate Stay range had lots of shades to pick from but I only picked 1 from each range as I wanted to try and see if I like ’em. And yes, I do. Proper review and swatches coming soon!
Last but not least are Wet ‘n’ Wild (WnW) Megalast lippies! These lippies have been raved A LOT by beauty bloggers/guru/youtubers for as long as I remember but here in Malaysia its quite pricey and only SaSa carries this brand in Malaysia.
These lippies were so hard to find I tell you. I know I could have just ordered them online or through the IG sellers but knowing that SaSa sells this, I might as well just look out for this and swatch them at SaSa. I went to SaSa branches all over KL but couldn’t get the shades that I wanted so guess where I got these 3? At Genting Highlands!
L to R :
WnW Megalast Lip Colour (E904B Rose-bud)
WnW Megalast Lip Colour (E912C In the Flesh)
WnW Megalast Lip Colour (E915B Spiked with Rum)
I got the rose, mauve shades which are suitable for everyday use and yes, I’ve been using this non stop. Its matte, not drying at all and the colours oh my god, they are just too pretty! I would want to pick up their other shades but macam takut tak sesuai pulak. Any suggestions on the other WnW shades?
Phew, quite a long post heh. Thanks for dropping by and do lemme know what are your favourite lipsticks in the comments section below so that I could try ’em too. Hehe!
